Évènement thématique de haut niveau sur le tourisme - Assemblée générale des Nations Unies.
Dans le cadre de la Semaine de la durabilité, le Président de l'Assemblée générale convoque au cours de la 78e session, et en coopération avec ONU Tourisme, un évènement thématique de haut niveau sur le tourisme.
Le tourisme est l'un des secteurs les plus importants au monde et constitue un moteur majeur de la croissance économique et du développement social et culturel, en plus de sa contribution importante à la création d'emplois décents et à l'esprit d'entreprise. Pour de nombreux pays en développement, le secteur du tourisme est une source importante d'emplois, de recettes en devises et de recettes fiscales.
Le évènement vise à promouvoir une position commune au plus haut niveau afin de renforcer la résilience du tourisme et de maximiser la contribution du secteur à l'agenda de la durabilité. L'événement offre aux États membres, aux observateurs, à la société civile, au système des Nations unies dans son ensemble et à d'autres parties prenantes une plateforme pour discuter des stratégies, partager les bonnes pratiques et les expériences afin de promouvoir un tourisme durable et résilient qui contribue à la réalisation des ODD.
