Declaración de Glasgow - Mesa Redonda Mundial para la Acción Climática del Turismo

The Fundació Mallorca Turisme, in collaboration with the Consell de Mallorca and the Sustainable Tourism Observatory (STO Mallorca) and supported by UN Tourism, was pleased to announce the third edition of the Sustainable Destinations Summit. This event was held on 17th and 18th October 2024 at the Hotel Zoetry Mallorca.

The Summit’s agenda included 1.5 days of panel discussions and interviews, covering a variety of topics from the role of destinations in the sustainability transformation process to diverse perspectives on sustainability and the generation of related evidence.

The Summit brought together leading experts and high-level decision-makers from across the tourism industry and allied sectors. This gathering aimed to facilitate a robust exchange of cutting-edge ideas, successful strategies, and impactful experiences. The goal was to spearhead the transformation of tourism into a significant force for global good.

Las sesiones de la Comunidad de Práctica para la Acción Climática del Turismo están diseñadas como una plataforma estratégica y enfocada para reunir a las partes interesadas clave (signatarios y estados miembros/puntos focales climáticos) que desempeñan un papel fundamental en la configuración e influencia de la acción climática dentro del sector turístico. Estas sesiones tienen como objetivo crear un entorno sinérgico donde los participantes puedan aprender unos de otros, construir conexiones significativas y contribuir colectivamente a promover la agenda de un turismo bajo en carbono y resiliente al clima.

Objetivos:

  • Intercambio y difusión de conocimientos:
    • Mostrar y resaltar los planes e iniciativas de acción climática implementados por los signatarios y los estados miembros/puntos focales climáticos.
    • Fomentar una cultura de aprendizaje, donde los participantes puedan obtener ideas, inspiración y conocimientos prácticos para mejorar sus propias estrategias de acción climática dentro del sector turístico.
  • Colaboración y networking:
    • Facilitar interacciones y debates entre signatarios, estados miembros y puntos focales climáticos, promoviendo la colaboración, la construcción de asociaciones y el intercambio de ideas.
    • Crear oportunidades para que los participantes identifiquen sinergias, compartan recursos y exploren vías potenciales para iniciativas y proyectos conjuntos.
  • Alineación y armonización de políticas:
    • Fomentar la alineación y armonización de las políticas, estrategias e iniciativas de acción climática entre diferentes organizaciones a lo largo de la cadena de valor del turismo.
  • Promover un enfoque cohesivo para abordar los desafíos del cambio climático dentro del sector turístico, garantizando coherencia, eficacia y máximo impacto.
  • Inspiración y motivación:
    • Inspirar y motivar a los participantes mostrando historias de éxito, estudios de casos y acciones transformadoras que han generado impactos positivos significativos en la resiliencia climática y la sostenibilidad dentro del sector turístico.
