El turismo une a las personas.

En este Día Mundial del Turismo reflexionamos sobre la profunda conexión entre el turismo y la paz.

El turismo sostenible puede transformar las comunidades, al generar puestos de trabajo, fomentar la inclusión y fortalecer las economías locales.

Como valora y preserva el patrimonio cultural y natural, puede ayudar a reducir las tensiones y alimentar la convivencia pacífica.

El turismo también puede promover la interdependencia económica entre vecinos, y alentar la cooperación y el desarrollo pacífico.

Al mismo tiempo, el turismo amplía horizontes. Cada persona que viaja puede oficiar de embajadora, e interactuar respetuosamente con la población local reconociendo nuestra diversidad y nuestra humanidad común y los valores que nos unen a todos.

Celebrando el turismo, viajemos con sentido de la responsabilidad, tendamos puentes y promovamos el respeto mutuo entre culturas y naciones.

Juntos podemos aprovechar el potencial que tiene el turismo para promover la paz y la prosperidad en beneficio de todos.

Juntos por la paz: Declaración del Comité Mundial de Ética del Turismo con motivo del Día Mundial del Turismo 2024

El Comité Mundial de Ética del Turismo (CMET) acoge con beneplácito la decisión de la Organización Mundial del Turismo (ONU Turismo) de designar “El turismo y la paz” como el tema para el Día Mundial del Turismo 2024. El tema es particularmente oportuno a la luz del clima mundial actual de conflicto y división.
